I began my teaching career at Fort King Middle School in 1991, teaching health and physical science. In 1994, I took a position as the life management skills teacher and athletic trainer at North Marion High School. Over the next 16 years, I taught personal fitness, English 4, and intensive math; I spent two and a half years as dean, until I was hired as assistant principal in 2005. In 2010, I was moved to Fort McCoy as assistant principal of curriculum, where I learned some very valuable information about middle and elementary school. It is an experience for which I am forever grateful. I spent one short year at Lake Weir High School in 2017-18, then returned to North Marion as assistant principal of curriculum in August of 2018. I was honored and humbled to be appointed principal of North Marion High School in July of 2021. I truly love my job and the Northside and am blessed to be principal where many of my former students now teach and their children now attend.

Michael Fritch

Assistant Principal of Student Services

Michael Fritch began his career as a Culinary Arts teacher at Lake Weir High School in 1993. From 2003 to 2007, he was Assistant Principal for The Villages Charter Middle School and High school. From 2007 to 2017 Mr. Fritch was a Vocational Administrator, Curriculum Coordinator and Assistant Principal at Marion Technical Institute. Mr. Fritch has served as Assistant Principal of Instruction from 2017 to 2018 and from 2019 to present, he will serve as Assistant Principal of Discipline. Mr. Fritch earned a Master’s in Curriculum from National Louis University. He also holds a Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management from Florida International University. Mr. Fritch is certified in Business Education (Grades 6-12), Educational Leadership (All Levels), and School Principal (All Levels).

I am very excited to be starting my third year as the Assistant Principal of Discipline at North Marion high School! I am looking forward to continuing to build on the relationships with students, families and our school community to ensure that the needs of all students are met this school year.
